Hook Up Safety Chains

CROSS YOUR SAFETY CHAINS UNDER THE HITCH

If you cross your safety chains under the hitch in an “X” pattern, the trailer tongue will drop onto the chains instead of the ground if the hitch comes loose.

Therefore, you can at least minimize the potential damage an adrift trailer will cause to itself, your tow vehicle, and others on the roadway. Additionally, crossing the chains allows you to turn in a tighter circle without the chains binding.

Of course, it’s always a good idea to double check your hitch to ensure that it’s locked down before pulling out of the driveway. Happy trailering![/vc_column_text][cz_gap height_tablet=”25px” height_mobile=”25px”][cz_image id=”cz_110740″ image=”3481″][/cz_image][/vc_column][/vc_row]
